It's All About the Boids!!!

2008 MILESTONES

Below you will find photos and commentary on some of my favorite offspring from the 2008 season.  Many of these projects I have been working towards for years and it's a great feeling to finally reach the goal, but as soon as you make one combo you start thinking about the next!  That's what makes this Hobby all the more enticing... You Always Have Something to Look Forward To!

ORANGE DREAM SPIDER

Here's a couple updated pictures:

DreamBee-3.jpg (64274 bytes)

DreamBee-2.jpg (74952 bytes)

The Orange Dream project started with a CH female that I acquired back in 2002.  She first produced in 2004 giving me 4 eggs, two of which looked just like Mom.  She took off 2005 and I had to wait until 2006 before I produced more including a pair of Orange Dream Yellow Bellies.  This year I produced the first Orange Dream Spider and she is sweet!  She has a very reduced pattern and a lot Orange Coloring especially around the tail.  In the picture below she is pictured with two Orange Dream Yellow Belly ball pythons.  This year I am hoping to produce a Super Orange Dream.  The first clutch of 3 eggs hatched from OD x OD and no Super... instead I got two normals and 1 OD.  I have 5 more eggs cooking and I am hopeful for a crazy looking Super!!!  UPDATE:  4 of the 5 eggs survived, so a total of 7 eggs this season and no Super. :(  Starting to have my doubts, but will try again.

Check out the updated pictures... she is starting to change already.  The Orange Dream changes over time and I am very excited about this combo!  Can't wait to watch this combo mutate and transform.

MOJAVE LEMON BLAST

MOJOPastels.jpg (61062 bytes)

Here you have a first with the Mojave Lemon Blast!  This is a combination of three different mutations; the Pinstripe, Pastel, and Mojave genes.  Pairing one of these girls with another designer male will produce a variety of combos never seen before!  I'm thinking a male Killer Bee, Super Pastel Butter or Pastel Clown as a future mate...
Red Axanthic Pastel

RAPPair-2.jpg (180414 bytes)

Here you have the Red Axanthic Pastel.  The Red Axanthic gene has a lot to offer in my opinion.  Not only is this a color mutation, but it has a very distinctive pattern as well with the cool black back and busy side pattern.  This combo includes the Red Axanthic and Pastel Morphs in one.  It is still a very rare combo with Corey Woods of Canada being the first and only other breeder to produce them.  I can't wait to see this combo combined with the Pied, Clown, and many other mutations!
Super Lemon Blast

SuperBlastM-1.jpg (33897 bytes)

SuperBlastM-2.jpg (47855 bytes)

This is a Super Blast male!  This morph is basically a Super Pastel combined with the Pinstripe.  This was a nice surprise waiting for me when I got home form the Daytona show.  I tried like hell to produce one last year and I struck out!  I have been dreaming about producing this combo before it was ever produced.  When I saw BHB post pics of the first one a few years back I went nuts.  So this was a very gratifying accomplishment.  This male will be the key to producing many cool combos in the future.  Needless to say, He STAYS Here!
Albino Het Red Axanthic

IMG_7614.jpg (47120 bytes)

This is another first time production!  As far as I know this is the only Albino Het Red Axanthic in the World!  He is quite rare and I was lucky to produce him in a 4 egg clutch from a Pos Het female.  To the untrained eye this snake may appear as a normal albino, but if you are familiar with the Red Axanthic gene  you will see many characteristics of the morph on display.  This snake is one step away from the Red Axanthic Albino or "Snow"  No one knows how this new combo will look, but I think it will be stunning!  I can't wait for this guy to shed and start feeding!  Hopefully he will grow fast!
